Our Wines

Planting of a 4 hectare (10 acre) Vineyard to serve the Winery commenced in 1992. The first wine from Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz was produced in 1996. The Cellar Door opened for sales on February 1999.

The Winery is nestled in the bottom of a Valley of the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula Hills at Hindmarsh Valley just 8 kilometres from the sea.

The area enjoys a gentle maritime climate with long dry summers ideal for producing premium cool climate wines. Wines are made from quality grapes handpicked during March/April from a low yielding handpruned estate Vineyard.

Traditional methods including basket pressing are employed to make distinctive red, white and fortified wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes. The varietal wines produced are well balanced with flavours and characteristics unique to Victor Harbor.

2005 Semillon

A classic 50/50 blend of these two varieties, which compliment each other magnificently. The fresh grassy, tangy, characteristics of Sauvignon Blanc, combine uniquely with the ripe, juicy, honey texture of the Semillon grape to create a wine of style.

The Prominent features of this Victor Harbor Semillon are plenty of fresh grassy varietal characters. An appealing mid palate with subtle honey overtones combining with well balanced acidity, suggesting this unique style when cellared for two to three years will provide excellent results.

2004 Sauvignon Blanc

Victor Harbor Winery's dry grown Sauvignon Blanc grapes have captivated the quite intense flavours for which this variety is known. Features of the varietal Dry White Wine are balanced acidity, with a palate that is alive and flavoursome. Subtle grassy, passionfruit tones accentuate the freshness of the classic varietal style. A wine to be enjoyed with fresh local fish or freshly chucked oysters.

Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes left on the vine until extremely ripe (17.5 Baumé). The handpicked grapes were partially fermented on skins, until the desired amount of sweetness and flavour were achieved. The sweet juice was fortified with spirit to produce the unique characteristics of this stylish fortified wine. A wine of great warmth.
